Description
The zircinoc inoculant (Zirconium) contains silicon, zirconium, aluminum, and calcium and is mainly used in the foundry industry for casting steel and gray iron components. This inoculant is also available in two sizes: granular (0.2–0.7 mm) and coarse (2–6 mm). zircinoc inoculant is added to the ladle prior to pouring, which improves graphite morphology formation in cast iron parts, ensures uniform solidification across all surfaces of the component, refines the microstructure, and consequently enhances mechanical properties such as hardness and toughness.
Applications of Zircinoc inoculant (Zirconium)
- Improves nucleation potential in cast irons and increases the number of spheroidal graphite nodules
- Prevents the formation of defects such as shrinkage cavities and cracks caused by uniform solidification across all surfaces
