Antimony ingot

Antimony ingot

Domestic and imported antimony ingots with a purity of approximately 99.6% are considered one of the widely used materials in various industries. Nearly more than half of them are utilized in metallurgical applications, mainly for alloy production, where they play a significant role in improving product quality.

Advantages and Applications of Antimony:

  • Semiconductor properties
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Heat resistance

And so on…

  • Used in flame-retardant compounds and wear- and corrosion-resistant alloys
  • Due to its semiconductive properties, it is used in the production of electronic and semiconductor components (such as cable and pipe coatings)

Description

Domestic and Imported Antimony Ingots with a purity of approximately 99.6% are among the widely used materials in various industries. More than half of them are consumed in metallurgical applications, primarily in alloy production, where they play a significant role in enhancing the quality of the final products. When antimony is combined with a small amount of lead, the resulting alloys have higher hardness, strength, and durability. These alloys are used in the production of bullets, pipes, and cable sheathing.
In addition, combining antimony with copper produces anti-friction alloys known as Babbitt, which are used in bearing components of heavy machinery and engines. Alloys such as Britannia and Pewter, used in the manufacture of household utensils, are formed by combining antimony with tin.

Properties of Antimony Ingots:

  • Heat resistant
  • Resistant to oxidation, corrosion, and wear
  • Pressure resistant
  • Semiconductor properties
  • Enhances hardness and strength
  • Improves malleability

Applications of Antimony Ingots:

  • In flame-retardant compounds and wear- and corrosion-resistant alloys
  • In electronics and semiconductors due to its semi-conductive properties (e.g., cable sheathing and piping)
  • In the electronics industry, especially in the production of diodes and infrared detectors
  • In alloy production (solder alloys) to increase hardness and mechanical strength
  • In chemical equipment such as tanks and pipes
