Description
Ferroborn is a ferroalloy consisting of iron and boron and a percentage of carbon, aluminum, silicon, manganese, phosphorus and titanium. Ferroborn in the Tabar ferroalloy group is the most common ferroborn on the market, containing 14-19% boron, which is silver-gray in color and appears as lumps with a grain size of 10-60 mm. This ferroalloy is one of the ferroalloys used in the steel industry to achieve specific mechanical properties.
Applications of FerrobornBoron:
- Alloying and nucleating element in steels and grain refinement agent in steel
- Increasing hardness and strength in low alloy steels
- Improving magnetic properties
- Manufacturing and production of magnets
- Increasing abrasion resistance
- Increasing corrosion resistance when used in small amounts
- Production of low carbon round bars
- Production of automotive sheets
- Improving cutting and turning capabilities in HSLA (high strength low alloy) steels
