It typically contains 60\u201365% manganese, 14\u201316% silicon, and 2% or less carbon. This ferroalloy is used in the foundry industry in two main grades:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Ferrosilicomanganese Grade 14\/60<\/li>\n<li>Ferrosilicomanganese Grade 15\/65<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since both silicon and manganese have a high affinity for oxygen, they effectively prevent oxidation during steelmaking. As a result, the produced steel is cleaner, more cost-effective, and free from impurities, which significantly increases the mechanical properties of the steel, including strength and toughness.
